The San Pio V Museum of Fine Arts in Valencia pays homage to Segrelles, the great Valencian illustrator, who worked in newspapers such as the Herald Tribune and the New York Times. You have got until 13th May to get to know his work.
The exhibition Jose Segrelles. Las mil y una noches (Jose Segrelles: The thousand and one nights) brings together a total of 125 works, many of which hitherto unseen, that the Valencian artist carried out to illustrate this classic of literature for the publishing company Salvat. For Jose Segrelles, Eastern dreamer, it was enough just to read it in order to be able to create the oriental atmosphere in his drawings of Moorish towers, white walls and Arab ceramics. In The thousand and one nights Segrelles unfurls that world of race and legend.
