The VEO Festival will return from February 15th through the 26th. Theatre will be reinvented for the fourth year running at València Escena Oberta, a coming together of transgressive proposals programmed with the idea of creating the most contemporary experimental and innovative works, where all trends and styles are reflected. VEO transcends orthodox and purist theatre and dance.
VEO will allow us to enjoy the city of Valencia intensely and to become familiar with many of its spots, including the historic centre, the Jardin del Turia, in the theatre, the underground, or an old factory, where these suggestive and impacting works will be performed.
Around twenty international companies will surprise passers by with small and medium-sized shows. In the theatres audacious works will be staged, such as the theatrical and textual autopsy by the Valencian company Bramant Teatre, the direct entertainment event Playground (aka Xavi Bobes), which will produce and manoeuvre tiny objects and broken dolls, and the acrobatic and circus dance act by Anomalie.
The programme also includes stage representations from Marseilles, Prague, New York, Santiago de Compostela, and Berlin, as well as a break dance workshop and a street space called Mobile Phones"", in which over 70 students from schools and the conservatory of theatre arts and dance perform, effectuate art action, give guitar recitals, do performances, design and micro-poetry readings on installations set up in the streets. In addition, there will be workshops on theatre, lead by Ramon Moreno, Jordi Renau, and Carmen Ombuena, and on music and dance, directed respectively by Chapi and Christina Andre
