The floods that changed Valencia

Become familiar with Valencian history at the MUVIM. An exhibit with photographs, videos and documents revisits the tragic floods of 1957 that tested the solidarity of the city's inhabitants. The exhibit is open until December 2nd.

50 years ago, a devastating flood destroyed the city of Valencia. The Museo Valenciano de la Ilustracion y la Modernidad (MUVIM) marks its 50th Anniversary with a special retrospective on this tragic event while paying homage to the victims. Part of the exhibit will be on display at Almudin until November 25th.
The flood left behind a trail of personal and material damages. However, it also motivated public authorities to implement a series of urban planning projets that contributed to the economic and social transformation of the city.
