La Cridà invites Valencians and visitors to participate in Fallas, the Valencian festivity. Each year the Cridà is the first massively attended act from the various celebrations in honour of Sant Jose. Celebrated on the last Sunday of the month of February, marks the official start of the Fallas, to which the whole world is invited.
At 8pm, many Fallero commissions dressed with traditional Valencian blouses (blusones) and carrying their banners, will gather in the Serranos Towers, an old town entrance built in the fourteen century, to hear the official inauguration of the celebrations.
The day of the Cridà starts early for the falleros with the desperta (awakening). After, they will enjoy a traditional breakfast at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, where, at 10 am, the final of the Campeonato Fallero de Pelota Valenciana will take place. At 1 pm will begin entrance of the Music bands, that will start at the Plaza de la Virgen and will march through the Plaza de la Reina and San Vicente Street towards the plaza del Ayuntamiento, where they will perform the Pasodoble El Fallero"". To conclude, a mascleta will be launched by Gori pyrotechnics from Mislata.
