The Neapolitan Nativity Scene in the National Museum of Ceramics of Valencia

Allow yourself to be seduced by the Rococo of the Palace of the Marquis of Dos Aguas in Valencia and, until 8th February, come and see the famous and artistic Nativity Scene.

Dating back to the 18th century, it comprises 29 figures of various different sizes between 10 and 40 centimetres. The figures are made out of wire covered in burlap with the head modelled out of terracotta and the extremities out of carved wood. The cloths with which they are dressed were made up in the Royal Cloth Factory, founded by Carlos III (Charles III) in San Leucio, near Naples. The woodwork of the figures can be attributed to different Neapolitan sculptors of the 18th century.
