Sagunto becomes once again, as like every year, into the Valencian capital of music, theatre and dance. The Roman Theatre, the two places of the Nau and the Generalitat will host the summer activity between July 12th and August 26th. Sagunt a Escena raises the curtain with artists of high standard like of Chambao, Estrella Morente, la CND, Els Joglars, el Piccolo Teatro de Milano o la Hongaresa. Who says that summer is only about sun and beach?
Sagunt a Escena combines performances of great format with others of minor characteristics in the second space of the Nau. The programme consists of around twenty acts which will also extend to the streets of the city.
The chill out band Chambao, who fuses flamenco with electronic music, will present their latest album Pokito a poko on July 12th in the Generalitat. The classic one in the comedy of the art: Arlecchino servitore de due padron, reinvented by the director Giorgo Strehler will fill the first space of The Nau. Els Joglars de Albert Boadella wil also present its latest show A place in Manhattan, in Nau 1.
Wellcome by Teatre de l'Ull, Herrumbre by the National Dance Company, la Casa de Bernarda Alba by Federico Garcia Lorca, Madame Butterfly by Giacomo Puccini o Mujeres, Estrella's lastest masterpiece are amongst others, the shows of Sagunt a Escena 2006, which like every year demonstrates that summer in Sagunto is not just about sun and beach.
