Every Thursday in September from eleven oclock at night onwards the public can enjoy the best jazz music in the best of places: the IVAM, one of the most important contemporary art museums in Europe.
On Thursday 21st September those performing will be Singing Astaire: A Fred Astaire Songbook. This spectacular musical, headed by the creators of the acclaimed Off-Broadway Show "Our Sinatra", is to be presented for the first time in Spain. Singing Astaire is a new musical that celebrates the well known repertory that was popularised by the unique and unrepeatable Fred Astaire in his legendary films shot in black and white in Hollywood between the years 1930 and 1940.
Jazz at the IVAM will conclude on 28th September with the performance by Enclave Latin Jazz, a group which started up in the summer of 2002 and which is made up of young Valencian musicians. Their musical objective consists in fusing together the jazz tradition and Latin music with their own arrangements and compositions and of leading musicians such as Jesus Santandreu, David Pastor or Perico Sambeat creating a sound with a very personal character that explores all the tessituras offered by the piano trio together with the percussion.
