A palatial building that was the original residence of the Bayle general - a public administrator charged with tax collection. It includes a post-academic construction of three levels. Its actual structure dates to changes made in the 19th century. In 1904 it was restored by architects Luis Ferreres and Jose Maria Manuel Cortina, and in 1955 the interior was refurbished for its use as the base for the provincial government.
