Valencia Tennis Open

The Agora in Valencia's City of Arts and Sciences has, once again this year, been chosen to host the most intense and exciting tennis tournament held in the Region of Valencia: the second Valencia Tennis Open. From 30th October to 7th November, the best rackets in the world will be hitting hard in a bid to claim victory.

This competition is shoring up its reputation as one of the most attractive Open 500 tournaments on the international scene for several reasons, including its exceptional venue, the Agora, and the number of top tennis players competing in this tournament.

At the Valencia Tennis Open 2010 we will be able to see five of the top ten and eight of the top fifteen players in the world, including Andy Murray, Nikolay Davidenko, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, David Ferrer, Tommy Robredo and Fernando Verdasco, just a few of the big names that have already confirmed their participation.

The tournament will be getting underway on 30th October with the qualifying rounds. The following day, the early rounds will take place and the final round will also begin, which will conclude on 7th November. In total, there will be 31 matches played on Court One and Centre Court. In the doubles categories, 32 tennis players will be competing (16 pairs).

As for times, on 30th and 31st October, and 1st and 2nd November, events will be kicking off at 11 a.m. and finishing mid afternoon. On 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th November, the final will be played between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Furthermore, the official Open restaurant will be opening its doors during the nine days of the competition and will be available to fans of the tournament and the general public at the City of Arts and Sciences.

The restaurant is in the Open Club, inside the Principe Felipe Museum, and will be serving lunch every day at midday and dinner from Wednesday to Saturday on match days. Members of the public get free access to the Funpark, the shopping and leisure area, which has increased its capacity and its entertainment offer.

The Ricardo Tormo Speed Circuit in the Region of Valencia will be hosting the Valencian Motorcycling Grand Prix from 6th to 8th November, your last chance to see these great figures before the Motorcycling World Championship comes to an end this year.

After a highly intense season, Valentino Rossi has successfully defended his title as MotoGP World Champion. He secured his victory in Malaysia, with one race to go, in spite of the pressure put on him by his team mate Jorge Lorenzo and the threat of other heavyweights such as Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa.

Audience participation is the name of the game at the eleventh edition of the Valencian Grand Prix. The Circuit has reached an agreement with the championship organisers so that on the Friday, before the training sessions get underway, everyone with a ticket will have the opportunity to visit the Circuit Pit Lane.

There, by the boxes, World Championship motorcyclists will meet, greet and sign autographs for fans. The MotoGP teams will also be exhibiting their motorcycles and members of the public will be able to see a World Championship box up close.
